Reasons to oppose HR 4437 Tuesday, April 11th, 2006

1. People who take in undocumented immigrants would become felons and be imprisoned for 6 months to 3 years

2. Social services organizations, refugee agencies, churches and other organizations aiding undocumented immigrants would also be criminally liable

3 20 million hard working, tax paying undocumented immigrants would become criminals

4. Everyone (not just immigrants) would have to obtain permission from the government just to get a job

5. Visas for people in the US legally could be revoked without judicial review

6. Families with members of mixed status would be separated by the government – with the undocumented members permanently barred from the United States.

7. Every business, including ours, would be fined from $7,500 to $40,000 for each undocumented worker they employ
